Russian Heavyweights Readying Bid To Head Off 4 EPL Clubs In Race To Sign 10M Rated Rangers Star

Spartak Moscow are keen to open talks with Rangers about signing Glen Kamara before the transfer window closes, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Russian club will try and head off interest from the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle and Watford, who have all been keeping tabs on the Finnish international.

Kamara is valued at around £10m by the Gers, and they may have to reluctantly sell up if the 25-year-old continues to stall on signing a new contract.

Manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that the Scottish champions have tabled an offer to the player but, so far, they have not received any indication that he will agree to an extension.

Spartak’s interest may have influenced Kamara’s thinking. They are reportedly prepared to triple the Finn’s current salary, which may tempt him into leaving Ibrox.

Rangers are under no immediate pressure to sell, with Kamara’s current deal expiring in 2023. However, if Spartak do offer £10m, it may be too good to turn down, considering the Light Blues need to balance the books following the club’s exit from the Champions League.
