REPORT: Rangers Tracking Controversial Burundian Forward Who Once Cost £15m

Rangers are keeping tabs on Wulte Zaregem striker Saido Berahino, according to Voetbalnieuws.be. The website says the controversial forward is among a number of players the Light Blues are looking at in Belgium.

The Burundian international only moved to the Jupiler Pro League in August last year after being released by Stoke City. The Potters paid West Brom £15m for the player in 2017, but he managed just five goals in two and a half seasons at the Bet365 Stadium.

In recent years, Berahino has been mostly known for incidents off the pitch, having been arrested for drink driving on more than one occasion, as well as a failed drugs test. He has also been criticised by former Stoke teammate Glen Johnson for failing to put the effort in during training sessions.

Since moving to Belgium, though, the 26-year-old’s career has taken a turn for the better, having scored eight goals in 22 appearances for Wulte Zaregem this season.
