REPORT: Rangers Have Not Given Up Hope On Keeping Scotland U17 Ace Despite Claims He’s Set For EPL Switch

Rangers still believe that striker Rory Wilson could sign a professional contract with the club, according to the Scottish Sun.

Reports in recent days had suggested that Aston Villa were set to beat the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool to the Scotland Under 17 international’s signature.

However, the Sun claim that Wilson has not rejected a contract from the Gers. He can sign on to professional terms with a Scottish team at 16 so there is still some optimism that he will commit his long term future to the Scottish champions

The fact that he hasn’t put pen to paper so far has fed speculation that he may be considering a move south of the border. Teams in England have been keeping tabs on Wilson’s progress and he would have impressed scouts during the international break.

The forward followed up his brace against the Czech Republic for Scotland’s U17s last week, with another goal in the 6-1 win over Georgia yesterday.
