RATED: Five Transfer Targets Who Have Been Linked With Rangers This Summer

The Ibrox Stadium.

Although Rangers have already brought in John Souttar from Hearts, the club have yet to press ahead with any other deals this summer.

The Scottish side have been linked with a few players, though, as they always are, and we have decided to rate them based on their chances of joining the Light Blues.

We have narrowed down our list to five names for this article, with these targets having been the most talked about in the press.

Press the next page as we assess whether they could be heading to Ibrox in the coming weeks and months.

Emmanuel Longelo (West Ham)

Reliable sources have linked the left-back with a move to Rangers. They do have competition from EPL newcomers Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest for the player’s signature, though.

The Bears are said to be prepared to let Borna Barisic leave for the right price this summer and, if the Croatian does depart, then Longelo could be a potential replacement.

Chances Of Signing: 3/5

Josh Tymon (Stoke City)

The fullback has been mentioned as a target for the Gers in recent weeks, but it is believed that the Potters may ask for around £5m for the defender.

With that being the case, you can’t see Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side making an offer for Tymon, unless they get a sizeable offer for Barisic, or they receive a ridiculous amount of money for Calvin Bassey.

Chances Of Signing: 1/5

Rabbi Matondo (Schalke)

Rangers’ right-hand side has been a constant issue over the past few years, with the likes of Scott Arfield, Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala, Ianis Hagi, Joe Aribo and Scott Wright having all filled in when required.

Recruiting Amad Diallo on loan from Manchester United in January was aimed at alleviating the problem but the move didn’t work out. Matondo prefers playing on the right flank and, with the Wales international having been made available for transfer by Schalke, he could well be a solution.

Chances Of Signing: 4/5

Cameron Archer (Aston Villa)

Van Bronckhorst will be pursuing a striker this summer, no matter what happens with Alfredo Morelos. Rangers have been linked with a loan move for Archer but there are plenty of other teams interested in the England Under 21 international.

The forward is reportedly being pursued by English Championship sides Watford and Middlesbrough so Rangers would have to persuade Archer (and Villa for that matter), that a switch to Ibrox would be better for the player’s development.

Chances Of Signing: 2/5

Tom Lawrence (Derby)

The Welshman is available on a free transfer and his ability to play on both flanks would make him an attractive target for the Gers, especially with Ryan Kent’s future at the club far from certain.

Lawrence also has a number of other clubs pursuing him, though, including Celtic, Southampton, Leeds, Fulham, Bournemouth, Watford, Nottingham Forest and West Brom.

Chances Of Signing: 2/5
