Rangers have tied down centre-back Jack Wylie to a professional contract, according to the Daily Record.
The Scottish newspaper claim that the defender was the subject of “approaches” from Arsenal and Tottenham but the Gers managed to “fend off” interest from the two Premier League teams.
Wylie is still only 15 years of age but there had been speculation that the Scotland Under 16 international could move south of the border, with the Light Blues only being owed minimal compensation due to the fact that he hadn’t signed on to professional terms.
Since Brexit, English Premier League clubs have been looking to Scotland to shore up numbers in their academies, as they are no longer allowed to sign youngsters from abroad who are under the age of 18.
Wylie had also been linked with Newcastle and Manchester United, as well as the two North London teams, but he has now committed his long-term future to Rangers.
