Barry Ferguson Believes 11 Goal Forward Is “Good Enough” To Play For Either Rangers Or Celtic

Ex-Rangers captain Barry Ferguson claims that Aberdeen forward Bojan Miovski has the ability to play for either Old Firm club.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson said that the North Macedonian international has already demonstrated what he can do in the Scottish Premiership:

“He’s shown that he can be good enough [to play for Rangers or Celtic], 11 goals for an Aberdeen team that has struggled this season let’s be honest.”

“He’s definitely an out-and-out goalscorer and he has decent link-up play as well, he’s an international. Why would you not look at players who are playing in the Premiership?”

Miovski has been in very impressive form for Aberdeen

As Ferguson mentions, it’s been a strong start to the season for the 24-year-old, who scored his 11th goal of the season against the Gers on Sunday, bagging the opener in the 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.

Miovski has been racking up goals in Europe too, with impressive displays for the Dons in the Europa League and Europa Conference League.

Probably the player’s most memorable contribution so far this campaign, though, came when he scored the winner against Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup semi-final earlier this month. Aberdeen will battle it out with Rangers at Hampden Park for the first domestic trophy of the season on December 17th.

Rangers are likely to be in the market for a new striker

While Cyriel Dessers and Danilo have both begun to find some form in recent weeks, manager Philippe Clement is still said to be keen on recruiting a new No.9 when the transfer window reopens in January.

Whether Miovski will feature on the club’s shortlist of targets, though, we shall have to wait and see.
