Rangers Star’s Father Admits Player Has ‘No Shortage Of Offers’ Ahead Of Transfer Window

Ianis Hagi’s father has claimed there are a number of offers on the table if Rangers opt against signing the midfielder on a permanent basis this summer.

There have been questions raised over whether the Light Blues will be able to afford to pay the £4.5m purchase clause to make the Romanian’s loan deal permanent from Racing Genk.

Gheorghe Hagi says that while everything has gone to plan for Ianis during his time at Ibrox, there will be other options if things don’t work out:

“The situation is he is on loan at Rangers and he’s really pleased with what he has found there. There’s been far too much talk about his future recently. We will see what will happen. It’s not as if his situation is changing every day.”

“His position is that Rangers have it in writing from Genk that they can buy him, so it all depends on Rangers. But it’s not as if we are asking them for an answer every day. What I would say is that he is the No.1 player in Romania and has no shortage of offers.”

At the moment, nothing is certain in terms of what will happen when the transfer window reopens. Finances are likely to be strained due to the lack of fixtures during the global health crisis.

Transfer budgets could well be heavily impacted as a result so while both sides appear happy for Rangers’ move for Hagi to go ahead, that could change in the coming months.
