Rangers Set To Agree To £17m Transfer ‘As Early As Next Week’

Rangers are set to sell striker Alfredo Morelos for a fee in the region of £17m, according to the Football Insider. The website claims that a deal could be agreed “as early as next week.”

With negotiations said to be at an advanced stage, the Colombian’s participation in the Gers’ first game of the season against Aberdeen on Saturday is now in question.

It’s hardly an ideal time to lose Morelos but, with transfer windows across Europe only having just opened, any interest in the forward was likely to occur close to the beginning of the campaign.

Manager Steven Gerrard will now be hoping that the 24-year-old’s future is resolved quickly. If the Colombian international is sold, the hope is that the Scottish club have already lined up their replacement.

Reports suggest that Bordeaux’s Josh Maja would be the likeliest candidate, although the player is also believed to be on West Ham’s radar.
