Rangers On Transfer Alert Following New Development On Chelsea Star’s Future

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has left the Blues’ preseason tour of the United States, according to reports in the UK.

It is believed that manager Thomas Tuchel has made the decision in order to make it easier for the Scottish international to find himself another loan move ahead of next season.

Back in May, reliable Heart & Hand podcast presenter David Elgar revealed that Gilmour would prefer to leave the London club on a permanent basis if he wasn’t part of Tuchel’s first-team plans, which effectively meant that Rangers would have very little chance of signing him. However, it appears a temporary switch is on the cards once again.

The Light Blues have been linked with their former player on and off over the past few years. There were suggestions that he could move to Ibrox last year before he joined Norwich City instead.

After a difficult loan spell at Carrow Road, though, Gilmour may well be more open to playing for a team that better fits his style of play. We shall see if the Gers do enter the running to loan the 21-year-old.
