Rangers Now Competing With FOUR EPL Clubs In Battle For 3 Cap International Keeper

Manchester United have now entered the race to sign Rangers target Sam Johnstone, according to reports in the UK

The 28-year-old, who has three senior caps for England, is expected to leave his current team West Brom when his current deal expires at the end of June.

It was reported in December that the Gers were trying to sign Johnstone up to a pre-contract agreement as they seek a potential successor for current number one Allan McGregor.

However, the involvement of United will complicate matters further. West Ham, Tottenham and Southampton were already thought to be interested in snapping up the goalkeeper on a free transfer, with the Hammers leading the battle.

Johnstone, who came through the academy at Old Trafford, may now be tempted by a return to Manchester instead. With all that being said, then, it does seem very unlikely at the moment that the shot-stopper will end up moving to Ibrox.
