Rangers Named As One Of The Favourites To Land Playmaker, With Decision Expected This Week

Rangers and Southampton are leading the race for Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old is said to be seriously considering a move to Ibrox after being told that he would be a key first-team player.

However, Southampton are also in the frame with the Saints having made a good impression on the player following talks with the Premier League outfit.

Clubs in the Bundesliga, as well as Celtic, are also interested in Aribo but the player could still stay at the Valley, after being offered a new deal by the Addicks.

The playmaker, who scored ten goals for Charlton last season, is out of contract this summer and has been weighing up his options.

Aribo is expected to make a decision on his future this week so Rangers won’t have to wait long before finding out whether they have secured the free transfer signing.
