Rangers Listed Among The Four Teams Left In The Running To Sign Welsh Ace On Free Transfer

Rangers, West Brom, Watford and Sheffield United are the four clubs competing to sign Derby winger Tom Lawrence, according to reports in England.

The likes of Celtic, Southampton, Leeds, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth had also been credited with an interest in the Wales international but it appears that the field has narrowed somewhat.

Lawrence will be available on a free transfer as his contract is set to expire at the end of this month, and he has plenty of offers on the table, having impressed at Derby despite the Rams’ relegation from the Championship.

It is believed that West Brom are the favourites to secure Lawrence’s signature at the moment but he could well be persuaded to move to Ibrox, with the prospect of competing for trophies and playing in Europe.

Lawrence does prefer to play off the left-hand side, cutting in onto his stronger right foot, so a move for the Welshman could be dependent on Ryan Kent’s future. The 25-year-old has a year left on his current deal with the Gers.
