Rangers Joined By Two English Clubs In Race To Sign 6M Rated Fullback

Rangers will have to see off Leeds and Norwich if they want to snap up Stoke City fullback Josh Tymon, according to reports in England.

It was claimed last month that Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side were interested in the 23-year-old, but Stoke are believed to be reluctant sellers, and they will only let the defender leave if a team offers £6m.

With Leeds and Norwich now involved, the Gers’ may find it even harder to get a deal agreed for Tymon. They will have some money in the bank from Joe Aribo’s switch to Southampton, but signing a left-back is clearly not a priority.

It’s possible that Tymon was being eyed if Calvin Bassey had been sold. There was a lot of talk about the defender moving to the Premier League after his excellent display in the Europa League final. Both Aston Villa and West Ham were mentioned as potential suitors but things have gone quiet on that front.

If Bassey does remain at Ibrox this summer, it’s likely that a bid for Tymon will be put on the backburner.
