Rangers Handed Massive Boost In Battle To Sign 2M Rated Midfield Dynamo

Preston North End midfielder Daniel Johnson has told the English club’s manager Alex Neil that he wants to leave Deepdale and move north of the border, according to the Football Insider.

There were reports earlier this week that Rangers had tabled a £2m offer for the 27-year-old and, although those claims were later dismissed, the two clubs are said to be in talks about a potential deal for the player.

Johnson scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in just 33 league appearances last season, and he would certainly add the cutting edge in the middle of the park that manager Steven Gerrard is looking for.

However, Preston are likely to drive a hard bargain. It has been claimed that North End are looking for between £5m and £8m for their prized assets, which would certainly be too expensive for the Gers if they do demand that much for the Jamaican star.
