Rory Wilson has told Rangers that he won’t sign on to professional terms with the club, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The 16-year-old has scored over 40 goals for the Gers in youth football, and he got on the scoresheet once again at the weekend as the Under 18s won 1-0 against Celtic.

Wilson also impressed when the Gers lifted the Scottish Youth Cup last month and it is not surprising that his performances have attracted interest from a whole host of teams south of the border.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool and Steve Gerrard’s Aston Villa have all been keeping an eye on Wilson’s progress, but, up until recently, it was hoped that the striker would stay and continue his development at Auchenhowie.

With Wilson having now made his decision, though, it is believed that Rangers have resolved to get the maximum fee for the teenager this summer.
