Rangers Consider Making £3m Offer For Welsh International Defender

Rangers are looking into signing Anderlecht centre-half James Lawrence, according to reports in Scotland.

Gers manager Steven Gerrard is seeking to strengthen his options at centre-back and it seems the Wales international is a candidate he is considering.

Lawrence made his senior debut for Wales back in November last year and he has now been given five caps by manager Ryan Giggs.

The defender spent his entire career on the continent after growing up in the Netherlands. He progressed through Ajax’s academy before having spells at Sparta Rotterdam and RKC Waalwijk.

Lawrence had to move to Slovakia, though, in order to get his senior career going in 2014. He won two league titles and two domestic cups with AS Trencin before being snapped up by Anderlecht last summer.

Despite the Belgian outfit only paying €450,000 for the centre-half, they will now reportedly demand £3m from Rangers if the Scottish club want the 26-year-old this summer.
