Rangers Begin Talks With Agents Of 28 Year Old Target Man

Rangers are in talks about signing Bolton Wanderers striker Josh Magennis, according to reports in Northern Ireland.

The Gers are believed to have made contact with the target man’s agents about a move to Ibrox this summer.

Magennis’s club Bolton are struggling financially and could offload the forward for a modest fee or on a free transfer, in order to reduce the wage bill.

The 28-year-old’s goalscoring record isn’t spectacular, to say the least. He managed just six goals in 45 appearances for Bolton last season.

Admittedly, the Trotters were struggling in the Championship, with Phil Parkinson’s side eventually being relegated but his record at past clubs, including in Scotland, was not particularly impressive. Although, it must be said he has been employed as a fullback and on the wing.

Magennis would likely be brought in as a squad player to replace Kyle Lafferty, who is expected to leave Rangers after a disappointing second spell with the Light Blues.
