Rae Names The Five Players Rangers Should Be Targeting This Summer

Alex Rae has recommended that Rangers sign up to five players currently playing in the Scottish Premiership to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

The former Gers star has backed the Light Blues to make moves for three Aberdeen players in Joe Lewis, Scott McKenna and Lewis Ferguson.

Rae also reinforced previous comments he made about signing Hearts left-back Aaron Hickey while he believes a bid to sign Motherwell’s David Turnbull should be considered despite the player’s move to Celtic having collapsed due to an injury problem.

Out of the five, you can see why both Hickey and Turnbull would be decent additions. Both are young and would fill positions in Steven Gerrard’ squad that need strengthening.

However, Rae’s recommendation to sign Lewis is a head-scratcher. The Englishman has only recently signed a new deal at Pittodrie, while the Gers already have a young goalkeeper in Robby McCrorie who could be Allan McGregor’s long term replacement.
