Premier League Ace Predicts He “Will” Play For Rangers In The Future As He Reveals Previous Talks Were Held

Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie has predicted that he will play for Rangers at some point in the future.

The 23-year-old grew up a Light Blues fan and when asked whether he expects to have the opportunity to sign for the club he supported as a boy, he replied:

“I think I will. There’s been a couple of times where we’ve been close before.”

McBurnie even revealed that he held talks with manager Steven Gerrard and assistant Gary McAllister when the pair first arrived at Ibrox two years ago.

The forward was on holiday in Dubai with Gers keeper Allan McGregor at the time when he was asked to meet Gerrard at a nearby hotel for a chat.

Although the conversation went very well, McBurnie ended up staying at Swansea City and signing a new deal. He then went on to score 22 goals in the English Championship before securing a £20m move to the Blades last summer.

Clearly then, Rangers won’t be trying to sign him in the immediate future, but something could still happen down the line.
