“One Or Two…” Beale Drops Big Transfer Hint As He Aims To Find The Next Bassey And Aribo

Rangers manager Michael Beale says he is already thinking about strengthening the first-team squad ahead of the January transfer window.

While he says he doesn’t have specific players lined up to come in straight away, there are one or two areas of the pitch that could do with some reinforcements:

“Have I got targets already? One or two but it’s more positional. And it’s about what I want from the quality of those players.”

Beale has also vowed to continue the club’s policy of finding hidden gems in English football, which has helped the club pick up quality players for bargain prices:

“The cross-border market has been really important to us with Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo. It’s been magnificent for the club, in terms of bringing in additional revenue. In my time at Rangers under Steven, we knew we didn’t have £5 million or £10 million to spend on a player.”

From the sound of things, the Gers won’t be loosening the pursestrings in January, which isn’t a complete surprise.

Looking around the bargain basement bins in England is not exactly what fans were hoping for but, as Beale points out, there has been a good track record in terms of signings being plucked from obscurity and going on to make a name for themselves at Ibrox. We shall see who comes in through the door next month.
