Midfielder Set For Medical On Monday Ahead Of £300k Rangers Move

Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo will have his medical on Monday ahead of his move to Rangers, according to the Herald.

The Scottish publication reports the Gers have beaten off fierce competition from a number of EPL clubs for the 22-year-old and he is expected to fly out to Portugal for the club’s pre-season training camp next week.

Aribo informed Charlton manager Lee Bowyer of his decision to leave the Valley at a meeting on Friday, with his contract expiring at the end of June.

Due to FIFA rules on young players, Rangers will have to pay £300,000 to Charlton for the midfielder, but it could represent a massive bargain for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Aribo was a key player in Charlton’s promotion to the English Championship last season, scoring ten goals and providing five assists in 39 appearances.

Rangers supporters will be hoping he can bring those sort of numbers to Ibrox next campaign.
