Rangers right-back Mateusz Zukowski put in a confident debut performance against Annan Athletic yesterday evening.
The Bears may have only been playing a League Two team but the Poland Under 21 international did look the part, getting himself an assist for Kemar Roofe’s goal.
Supporters on Twitter were impressed by what they saw from Zukowski and they believe they might have an excellent young player on their hands:
He certainly does. Wasn't tested defensively but thought he looked very strong.

Looks very similar to Paterson. Some energy and he's good on the ball.

Zukowski does look like he has got a bit of pace about him as he marauded up and down the right flank, supporting Scott Wright, throughout the 90 minutes.
The fact that the Polish fullback has played as a winger, and even as a forward on occasion in the past, means he has strong attacking qualities, which should allow him to fill in ably for captain James Tavernier when needed.
At 20 years of age, Zukowski also seems to be a perfect replacement for Nathan Patterson but, whether he has the same potential, only time will tell.
