Rangers forward Jermain Defoe was only the pitch 11 minutes but he managed to score two goals as the Light Blues came out 4-0 winners against St Johnstone.

Alfredo Morelos opened the scoring just after half time with Connor Goldson making it two just after the hour mark. However, with the game nearing its conclusion, Defoe popped up with two well-taken goals after coming as a substitute.

Supporters on Twitter praised Defoe for his poacher’s instincts in front of goal:

Rangers have bounced back very well after the disappointing performance in the Old Firm derby. Wins against Livingston and St Johnstone in the league and another against Feyenoord in the Europa League means the Gers have quickly got back on track.

Next up, they have Livingston in the quarter-final of the League Cup on Wednesday night. They then host Aberdeen at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon before travelling to Switzerland to face Young Boys.
