International Manager Predicts Rangers Ace Will Be Leaving Club “Pretty Soon”

Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough does expect Rangers winger Jordan Jones to leave Ibrox in the coming weeks after the 25-year-old was told he could find another club by Steven Gerrard.

The midfielder has not played a single minute for the Light Blues this season and has made the matchday squad just once, for the 3-0 win against St Mirren earlier this month. With the writing on the wall, Barraclough is hopeful that Jones will find a new team before the transfer window closes:

“He is talented but at this moment in time Rangers is a competitive squad and Steven Gerrard has spoken to him and said he can find a new club if that comes up. Hopefully, that can be sorted pretty soon and hopefully, he can get settled into a new club, new surroundings and then he can go and perform for us like we think he can.”

Jones’ career at Rangers has never really recovered since he picked up a knee injury in a wild challenge on Moritz Bauer, that saw him sent off against Celtic in the Old Firm derby a year ago.

Since then, he has barely featured, with the odd substitute appearance here and there. A return to former club Middlesbrough has been suggested, while Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers are also said to be keen on the Northern Irishman.
