Rangers left-back Calvin Bassey was the standout performer as the Light Blues thrashed Dunfermline in the Premier Sports Cup on Friday evening.
The 21-year-old was full of energy throughout the game, delivering some excellent crosses into the box and getting two assists in the 5-0 rout.
Supporters on Twitter were full of praise for Bassey with many believing that he can challenge Borna Barisic for his place on the left-hand side of defence:
The big man had an amazing game. Borna should be worried for his place

Both assists from Bassey were top class. The cutback for John Lundstram to score the opener was a very smart piece of play while his delivery for Ianis Hagi to score the third was bang on the money.
It must be said that Bassey had a rather up and down first season for the Gers, impressing on the odd occasion but his four-match ban for breaching virus protocols did set him back a bit. Hopefully, he can build on the Dunfermline display and push on this campaign.
