Rangers have won the race for Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has been interesting the likes of Celtic and Southampton but it seems that Steven Gerrard’s side have secured the player’s signature.
Supporters on Twitter believe Aribo will be a good addition to the squad:
Great signing if we get it across the line otherwise we move on

Been wanting to sign this guy for a while now, buzzing if it actually does

Having seen him up close for two years imo he’s better than any Cam currently in the Rangers squad. Genuinely think he’ll rip up the SPL
Big statement I know but a Gerrard type player ??— Foxy (@foxster1977) June 15, 2019
This is an exciting prospect. I really hope we get it done.

His current club Charlton also offered Aribo a new contract following the Addicks’ promotion to the Championship, but the persuasive power of Gerrard seems to have proved decisive.
It will come at a cost, though, with the midfielder apparently agreeing a £20,000 a week salary to make the move to Ibrox. After signing the deal, he will become one of the club’s most well-paid players.
It is said that Aribo will be ready to join up with his new teammates when Rangers fly out to Portugal for pre-season training later this month. The Gers play Oxford United in a friendly on July 7th before playing the first leg of their Europa League qualifier on July 11th.
