Four Players That Could Be Summer Transfer Targets For Rangers

The Ibrox Stadium.

The ongoing global health crisis means there is no certainty as to when the season will finish and subsequently when the transfer window will reopen.

On top of that, Rangers’ own financial position may mean they are not able to make the moves they would like to make this summer.

Even so, the transfer rumour mill continues to rumble on with the Light Blues having already been linked with a number of different names over the past few months.

Press the “next page” as we list four players the Gers could well be interested in signing at the end of the season.

Nathaniel Clyne

The Liverpool right-back will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires, and with Rangers expected to let captain James Tavernier leave, the Reds defender could be a perfect replacement.

Clyne is still only 28 years of age, but it must be said that he has had a number of injury problems in recent seasons and his salary demands may prove an obstacle for the Scottish club.

Caleb Ekuban

The former Leeds forward is currently plying his trade in Turkey, and he was linked with a switch to Ibrox last month.

Ekuban could well be on the Gers’ list of targets to replace Alfredo Morelos if the Colombian is sold. However, reports in the Turkish media claim the Trabzonspor striker could cost €9m.

Rhian Brewster

Goal claim that Rangers have a shortlist of five names that are being looked at as potential successors to Morelos. One of them is the Liverpool youngster.

Brewster could well be available on loan again next season. He has spent the second half of this campaign with Swansea but the enforced break in football fixtures means he has only played 11 games. He has, though, scored four goals during that time.

Josh Maja

The former Sunderland forward is currently playing in France with Bordeaux, and he has been in impressive form this campaign, having scored eight goals in 24 appearances for the Ligue One side.

At 21 years of age, Maja is certainly a promising young player, but there are question marks over whether the Light Blues could afford his wages and transfer fee.
