English Championship Side Fear Losing England U21 Ace To Rangers Due To Lure Of European Football

Swansea manager Steve Cooper ‘fears’ losing Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster to Rangers, with the Light Blues able to offer the 20-year-old European football, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Welsh club currently have the England Under 21 international on loan until the end of the season, where he has scored four goals in eleven games so far, but they are keen to have him stay for another year.

However, after the Gers reportedly enquired about taking Brewster on a temporary basis for the beginning of next campaign, the Sun reports that Swansea are concerned that a move to Scotland will be more appealing.

Bears boss Steven Gerrard worked with Brewster during his single season as Liverpool’s Under 18 head coach, while assistant Michael Beale helped guide the forward through his formative years at Chelsea.

Those connections, combined with Gerrard’s good relationship with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, could prove crucial in the striker moving north of the border.
