Rangers left-back Borna Barisic scored a sumptuous free-kick midway through the second half to secure a 1-0 win against St Mirren this afternoon.
The Croatian international has been criticised for his performances so far this season, but his winning goal today was certainly a memorable one. Fans on Twitter are hoping the defender now kicks on from here and begins putting in more consistent displays:

It’s clear that manager Steven Gerrard has not been completely convinced of Barisic since his £2.2m arrival from NK Osijek last summer. At various points, Andy Halliday and Jon Flanagan have filled in for the Croatian.
One game won’t necessarily change opinions on the fullback, but after securing the three points for the Light Blues, it will surely give him more confidence heading into upcoming games.
The matches come thick and fast with Rangers facing Legia Warsaw in the second leg of their Europa League playoff round tie at Ibrox on Thursday.
