Rangers are in talks with Juventus about signing Aaron Ramsey before the transfer window closes, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The respected Italian journalist reports that “negotiations are underway” for the former Arsenal midfielder to make the switch to Ibrox.

At this stage, it is not known whether the Gers are trying to snap up Ramsey on loan or on a free transfer, with Juve believed to be very keen to get the player off their wage bill.

Considering his high salary, it would be very surprising if the Light Blues managed to secure the Wales international’s signature ahead of the transfer deadline this evening.

Ramsey has been regularly linked with a return to English football. Liverpool, Newcastle, West Ham and even a move back to the Emirates have all been touted as possible options. However, Di Marzio claims that relegation-threatened Burnley will be Rangers’ main competition for the 31-year-old.
