Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has been in outstanding form in recent weeks, with another top performance versus Braga on Thursday evening.
The 28-year-old initially struggled after first arriving from Sheffield United on a free transfer last summer, but his displays have improved markedly since the turn of the year.
Some fans on Twitter have credited previous manager Steven Gerrard for signing Lundstram, while others believe that the Englishman simply needed time to settle at Ibrox before making his mark:
He was outstanding again. Constantly proving that Gerrard got it right signing him

We’ve been needing a JL for years, just took him time to settle. Has to be a player award in there?… 🔴⚪️🔵….

He’s the midfield enforcer we’ve been needing for years, box to box, crunching in to tackles and can play a pass!

Engine room/enforcer of the team

Best player on the pitch in most of the games since Gio arrived. Reminds me of myself against Falkirk ladywell Utd circa 1985.

He is certainly endearing himself to the support with his displays since the turn of the year

Lundstram has certainly shown supporters why Gerrard was so keen to bring him in. His battling qualities and his energy in the middle of the pitch gives the team something other midfielders in the first-team squad cannot offer.
In the form he is currently in, it is hard to see manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst taking Lundstram out of the side any time soon. Tremendous credit has to go to the player for turning around his fortunes.
