Clubs “Aware” Of Rangers Star’s “Potential Availability” As Journalist Refuses To Rule Out Surprise Deadline Day Sale

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could still leave Ibrox before the transfer window closes, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Colombian international has just four months remaining on his contract and January is the last opportunity for the Light Blues to raise some cash from his potential departure. Jones says the forward is on the market and a lot will depend on whether a team opts for a panic buy ahead of Tuesday’s deadline:

“Clubs have been made aware of his situation and his potential availability. And it’s at this point of a window when you would kind of expect those interested clubs to come forward because let’s face it, if you’ve got a particular problem, and you’re a bit desperate, this is the moment to try and solve that with a player like Morelos.”

While Morelos hasn’t exactly been in outstanding form, you can’t imagine that manager Michael Beale would be happy if the Gers’ board sanctioned his sale at this late stage of the window.

The 26-year-old has started all but two games since Beale was appointed back in mid-December, and the striker has racked up four goals and contributed four assists during that period.

It would be very difficult to replace Morelos at such short notice and, unless something crazy happens in the final 24 hours, you would expect the Colombian to stay.
