Chris Jack Lists The THREE Reasons Why Rangers “Will” Seal The Signature Of 21 Year Old Midfielder

There is every indication that Rangers will secure the signing of Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin before the transfer window closes on Tuesday, according to Herald Scotland reporter Chris Jack.

The journalist claims there are three important reasons why the deal should be finalised. Both the player and the Gers are keen to get the deal done, while Standard want to sell before the 21-year-old leaves on a free transfer next summer:

“I think a deal will get done, it seems to make sense for all parties to get a deal done, Raskin wants to move, Rangers want to sign him and Liege want to get as much as they can for a player who is out of contract and will be worth nothing in the summer. I know a lot of Rangers fans are a bit angsty at the fact that a fee not been met, “just go and pay the money” but, any transfer negotiation starts with a club setting a price, Rangers want to pay a different price and nine times out of 10 we meet in the middle.”

Reports in Belgium suggest that Standard have rejected a second bid for Raskin, but the Light Blues are likely to follow it up with a third offer as they try to get a deal completed ahead of deadline day.

It is believed that the Belgian Under 21 international’s original asking price was €2m (£1.75m) but Standard could well settle for half that amount. We shall see in the next few days whether an agreement between the two clubs can be brokered.
