Rangers fullback Matt Polster put in a consummate display in the 2-0 win against Ross County last night. The American international was standing in for the injured captain James Tavernier and he hardly put a foot wrong.
Supporters on Twitter have been very impressed with the 26-year-old considering his lack of game time this season:
Thought @MattPolster was a shout for Man of the Match tonight. Brilliant performance having not played 90 this season to step in and look comfortable. Think we’re yet to see the best of him which is saying something!

Well played Matt. Deserved the MOM IMO as you were always wanting the ball and were positive when on you got it.

The match yesterday was only Polster’s sixth game of the campaign, with three of those being substitute appearances. The American has certainly had to bide his time for opportunities with manager Steven Gerrard having rarely selected him for matchday squads.
He will not have long to impress, though, with Tavernier expected to be back in action within the next couple of weeks. The defender will likely get another chance against Aberdeen this weekend, and he should also be in contention for another start when the Gers face Hibernian next Wednesday. His long term future, though, is very much still up in the air.
