Rangers are reportedly in negotiations to sign Vitesse Arnhem defender Danilho Doekhi and Hearts’ John Souttar.
Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is said to be keen to reinforce his backline this month but it appears both may only join on a free transfer next summer.
There is a possibility that, at least, one of these signings could be brought forward to January, with Doekhi thought to be valued at around £2m. However, most fans on Twitter believe the Gers should simply get both the Dutchman and Souttar in through the door, whether that be now or at the end of the season:
Would take both of them if we can shift Katic and Simpson. Hopefully get one of them this month and the other can fill in when Goldson leaves in the summer.

Tbh I'd like both signed, Souttar having watched him would definitely do a job the other boy having not seen him bit having looked over numerous scouting reports seems like he's a genuinely good player also, not sure I'd be willing to drop that sort of money on him right now

Take both of them.

If Connor Goldson were to be offloaded this month, it would allow the Bears to raise a fee from his sale before he leaves for nothing. That could give the Gers a chance to bring in one of Doekhi or Souttar early. However, as things stand, you would put your money on the two players being secured on pre-contract agreements.
