‘Well How Spooky’ ‘Oh Coincidence? I Think Not’ Fans Are All Saying The Same Thing About Gerrard And Klopp’s New Deals

Rangers have confirmed that manager Steven Gerrard has extended his contract until 2024. The 39-year-old’s original deal was due to expire in 2022 but the club have rewarded him for his excellent results during his eighteen months in charge.

Coincidentally, though, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also signed a contract extension this morning, and remarkably his deal also runs until 2024. It didn’t take long for fans on Twitter to put two and two together:

Of course, planning a succession so far in advance would be foolhardy as results will determine how long both Gerrard and Klopp last at each of their respective clubs.

Gers supporters have always known that their manager wouldn’t be able to say no if the Reds job does come up, but they will be hoping for a league title or two before he eventually decides to leave Ibrox.

Rangers will be looking to make it 55 this season, and Gerrard’s side face Motherwell on Sunday as they look to chase down leaders Celtic.
