Weir Names The Four Players Who Have To Be Credited For Rangers “Unprecedented” Season

Former Rangers defender David Weir has singled out four players who have contributed hugely to the club’s superb form in the league.

Weir says that Allan McGregor, Connor Goldson, Borna Barisic and James Tavernier have all been outstanding for the Light Blues, who have reached new heights with their consistency levels this season:

“I think the goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been outstanding. Connor Goldson, James Tavernier and Borna Barisic have been almost consistent throughout. There has been a good degree of stability, but the results are unprecedented in terms of the quality and the consistency.”

Considering the Gers are unbeaten in 29 league matches, and have conceded only eight goals during that time, you have to give a lot of credit to the defence, as Weir rightly points out.

It is unprecedented in terms of the records that are being set. Their average of only letting in one goal every four matches is hard to get your head around.

Whether things will begin to drop off now, with title number 55 in sight, we shall have to wait and see, but knowing the standards that Rangers manager Steven Gerrards sets, there will likely be no let-up.
