WATCH: Gerrard Laments Rangers’ Poor Start And Criticises His Creative Players

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says that the Light Blues’ poor start against Hearts yesterday played a crucial role in his side dropping points at Tynecastle.

The home side hit the bar and scored the opener after a defensive mistake, and while Gerrard was pleased with how the Gers fought their way back into the match, he was disappointed with the lack of creativity from his attacking players in the second half:

The dropped points mean that Rangers have been knocked off the top of the league on goal difference, and it will certainly be frustrating that they couldn’t maintain their advantage at the top for very long.

Gerrard’s side don’t have time to stew on the result, though, as they face Porto away from home in the Europa League on Thursday night. Both teams have three points heading into the encounter and the Gers’s chances of making it through to the knockout rounds will be boosted massively if they can get a result in Portugal.
