Van Bronckhorst Vows That Rangers Will Be “Brave” And “Dangerous” As He Aims For Fast Start Against Liverpool

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has revealed his team are looking to catch Liverpool off guard in the opening minutes of their Champions League clash on Wednesday night.

The Light Blues were rather passive in the first fixture between the two teams last week, and van Bronkhorst has promised that his team will play on the front foot at Ibrox:

“We will prepare well to face a strong opponent but we need to get something from the game. Can we afford to be more high-risk? You have to be brave. In the second half at Anfield, we had moments where we were and had one-against-one when we pressed high against Liverpool. When we won the ball we could have been more dangerous in the last 10 or 15 minutes. We have to try to be dangerous and create chances earlier in this game.”

Considering they have zero points from their three group games so far, Rangers really have nothing to lose by going all out for the win against the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are going into the match low in confidence after the defeat to Arsenal at the weekend, and the home side need to get on top of them early on so they can’t get a foothold.

There is, of course, a chance that the Gers could be caught out on the counter-attack but it is definitely worth the risk considering they need to get a victory at all costs.
