Van Bronckhorst Provides Update On Aaron Ramsey As Rangers Loanee’s Injury Problems Resurface

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Celtic yesterday afternoon.

The Welshman had to be substituted just before half-time in the Scottish Cup semi-final, with Scott Wright coming on in his place. Van Bronckhorst says the extent of the injury is still not known but it will be assessed in the coming days:

“He had some problems with his hamstring. So we need to assess it but of course, I think he has something. We don’t know yet what it is but he couldn’t play on.”

Ramsey’s latest fitness issue comes as a major disappointment. It was hoped that the former Arsenal player could provide the difference in big games due to his experience but he has already spent a good amount of his loan spell at Ibrox on the treatment table.

Whether this latest injury setback will keep him out for days or weeks, we shall have to wait and see but, one thing is for the certain, it is looking very unlikely that the Gers will look to keep the 31-year-old on a permanent basis.
