Rangers centre-back Nikola Katic was at fault for the first goal as the Bears dropped two points away to St Johnstone in the 2-2 draw this afternoon.
The 23-year-old failed to clear the ball before being outmuscled by Callum Hendry who slotted away after just eight minutes. Fans on Twitter feel it is time for the Croatian to be dropped from the starting eleven:
Goldson and Katic were utterly diabolical today. Defending cost us today. Kamberi should be starting every game Infront of Kent or Morelos until they start showing up again

Not good enough. Our defence just threw that game away. Katic needs dropped and never brought back.

Katic had as bad a game for a defender as I’ve saw for a long time. And I’m a fan.

Helander strolls back into that LCB position when he’s back. Katic isn’t at it at all just now.

Katic has became the new Worral and Helander has became the new Katic.

Katic the biggest hype job known to man.
There’s a reason why he was dropped for Worrall, Helander and Edmundson at various stages.
Brainless.

Like Kamara, Katic has often been made out to be better than he is on here. Like Kamara, Katic will be written off by many of the same folk now.
Hopefully he’ll bounce back from this as he’s done more good than bad for us over the season.

Felip Helander is expected to be back fit before the end of the month but the Swedish international has not played since the beginning of December and he will need some time to get back to full fitness.
The other alternative to Katic is George Edmundson. The young Englishman has not let his side down when called upon this season, but he has only featured 11 times for the Gers since arriving from Oldham in the summer. Whether manager Steven Gerrard will opt to recall the 21-year-old following such a poor defensive display at McDiarmid Park, we shall have to wait and see.
