United Star Issues One Word Reply When Asked About Potential Rangers Switch

Manchester United loanee Jack Butland has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a move to Rangers.

The 30-year-old is expected to leave his parent club Crystal Palace on a free transfer after his contract expires next month and, when asked whether he could make the switch to Scotland, Butland simply replied:

“Maybe.”

Light Blues boss Michael Beale has stated that the Gers will announce the arrival of a new keeper within the next week or so, although he did claim that the identity of the player had not been mentioned in the press.

That could rule out Butland, but we shall have to wait and see whether that is the case.

A new number one is a priority for Rangers

With Allan McGregor leaving when his current deal expires next week, and Jon McLaughlin having dropped behind Robby McCrorie in the pecking order, strengthening the club’s options in goal has taken on greater importance.

If the Gers are going to challenge for the title next campaign, making sure they have a solid goalkeeper in between the sticks will be vital.
