Two English Clubs Weigh Up January Deal For Rangers Shot Stopper

Middlesbrough and Birmingham City are both interested in snapping up Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, according to reports in the English media.

The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and the Gers would probably prefer to sell him before he can leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Boro are looking for a replacement for Darren Randolph who looks poised to leave for West Ham in January, and it appears Foderingham is their preferred target.

The Englishman was brought in from Swindon Town by Mark Warburton four and a half years ago, but the return of veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor reduced his playing time significantly.

This season, Foderingham has played just four games, twice in the Premiership, once against East Fife in the League Cup and once in the Europa League qualifiers.

He has been a good servant, though, having played 142 times for the club, conceding 144 goals and keeping 55 clean sheets.
