Two English Clubs Line Up Offers For Key Rangers Man As Gerrard Lays Out Transfer Stance

Leeds and Fulham are weighing up bids for Rangers defender Connor Goldson this month, according to the Football Insider.

The website claims that the Marcelo Bielsa’s side are looking at defenders who can play either in the Premier League or in the second tier, and they have identified the Light Blues player as one of their key targets.

Fulham are also believed to be keen on Goldson with the Cottagers said to be looking to sign the 27-year-old this month. However, Gers boss Steven Gerrard has recently stated that it would be a grave error if the club let go of any of their first-team stars in January:

“Sometimes bids can’t be turned down. I respect and understand that. But it would be a huge, huge mistake if we did that now – or in the next couple of weeks.”

Goldson has already made 36 appearances in all competitions for Rangers this season. The Englishman has played the full 90 minutes in all 19 league matches and he has been a key component in a defence which has conceded only 11 goals; the best record in the Scottish top flight.
