Three Rangers Stars To Be Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

James Tavernier, Allan McGregor and Steven Davis were all inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame on Sunday, during a ceremony at the New Edmiston House complex.

All three players are currently signed to the club and they have all been part of the Rangers squad for a significant amount of time. Tavernier has been at the Gers for eight years, Davis has spent seven years in total at the club and McGregor has been a Rangers goalkeeper for a cumulative 15 years.

As such, all three have the right to call themselves Rangers legends. Notably, the trio were the first inductees into Rangers’ prestigious Hall of Fame since 2014.

Tavernier has been at Rangers since 2015, known for his goal scoring ability, despite being a natural defender. Steven Davis, meanwhile, has had four spells at the Light Blues, initially joining the club all the way back in 2008.

Allan McGregor began his career at Rangers, making 205 appearances, leaving the when the club folded in 2012. He rejoined the club in 2018, where he has made an additional 132 starts for the Gers.

There are five categories upon which players are judged before they can enter the Rangers Hall of Fame. They are as follows:

1. Service to the club.
2. Number of games.
3. Honours won with Rangers.
4. International caps won while at Rangers.
5. Exceptional abilities.

Former inductees into the Rangers Hall of Fame includes the likes of Graeme Souness, Paul Gascoigne and Terry Butcher. It was initially established in 1999, with fans being able to have their say on who is inducted from 2001 onwards.
