Ex-Rangers midfielder Ronald de Boer has wished former teammate Giovanni van Bronckhorst well after his fellow Dutchman was appointed the new Light Blues manager.
De Boer (who had a four-year stint with the Gers) took to Twitter yesterday to react to van Bronckhorst being hired:
Good luck @The_real_Gio
See you soon at Ibrox π @RangersFC pic.twitter.com/XTlrFdJHuOβ Ronald de Boer (@RdBoer1970) November 18, 2021
Supporters have been discussing the meaning of his second line “see you soon”, with many hoping that he could be named as part of the new backroom staff:

De Boer is currently assistant manager of Ajax’s youth team so it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that he would be interested in a role with Rangers’ first-team setup. However, his remarks are probably more likely to mean that he will be back at Ibrox watching as a spectator.
Van Bronckhorst is building a formidable team of coaches. Roy Makaay has already arrived in Glasgow, with Arno Philips (fitness coach) and Yori Bosschaart (video analyst) also tipped to join him. Guangzhou City head coach Jean-Paul van Gastel is reportedly being lined up as assistant.
