“That Will Be On His Mind….” Journalist Claims Chelsea Star Would Contemplate A Move To Rangers

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour may well be considering a loan switch to Rangers this summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The former Gers academy graduate has struggled during a spell with Norwich City this season, prompting speculation that Chelsea will look to loan out the Scottish international for another year. With Gilmour at a crossroads in his career, O’Rourke believes a return to Ibrox could be on the cards:

“I think a move to Rangers might be something that will be on his mind. I think he’s a boyhood Rangers fan as well, so if Rangers were able to pull off that deal, it would give them a huge boost going into next season.”

A report last month claimed that the Gers are in the frame to secure Gilmour’s services this summer, along with the likes of Fulham and Bournemouth.

With Steven Davis’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, and Aaron Ramsey expected to return to Juventus, manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be keen to reinforce his options in the middle of the park.

Gilmour could be the perfect addition and if, as O’Rourke claims, the player is open to the move, it is something the Bears should be looking to capitalise on.
