It could well be the breakout moment for Sakala, who has had to be patient since he arrived on a free transfer from Belgian side KV Oostende in the summer.
Ironically, the 24-year-old’s only other goal for the Gers also came against Motherwell, during the 1-1 draw at Ibrox back in September, but he will be hoping his three goals on Sunday will help him kick on to feature more prominently for the Scottish champions.
Manager Steven Gerrard has only started Sakala on four occasions so far this campaign and the striker will be looking for more starts following his performance at the weekend.
