Some fans on Twitter are hoping that Docherty will be given some game time by manager Steven Gerrard this season:

After signing from Hamilton Academical in January 2018, Docherty impressed many during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign under caretaker manager Graeme Murty.
However, following Gerrard’s arrival at Ibrox, he was deemed surplus to requirements and moved to Shrewsbury on a season-long loan. He played well for the English League One outfit, scoring ten goals and providing 11 assists in 50 appearances.
It does appear that Docherty has been given a second chance by Gerrard considering his inclusion in the trip to Portugal. His strike in training would have certainly impressed the Rangers boss.
