Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson scored his second senior goal as Steven Gerrard’s men cruised to a 4-0 win over Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup last night.
The 19-year-old scored the fourth goal in the closing minutes of the first half, winning the ball inside the opposition penalty area before firing his shot past goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie.
Patterson’s recent performances have been very impressive, and fans on Twitter were praising the teenager following the game:

The young fullback has filled in ably in the absence of captain James Tavernier. He has only lost once in his eleven appearances for the Gers this season, and that came in the Europa League against Slavia Prague.
Whether Patterson has done enough to keep Tavernier out when the club’s talisman returns from injury, it is very doubtful, but Gerrard now knows he can rely on the teenager when called upon.
The defender has certainly done all he can to rebuild trust after he breached lockdown regulations, along with four other teammates, earlier this year.
